Has anyone ever asked you for an autograph thinking that you were another band?

 I cant recall being asked for an autograph from someone thinking i was a member of another band...BUT literally last night jeffrey and jonathan had an encounter with a girl (yes..she was definitely drunk) on our tour with Boys Like Girls who thought they were both in boys like girls...she said to jonathan "sorry i didnt have enough money to buy your merch...but i did get a self against city t-shirt!" And when jonathan told her he was the singer of self against city, she didnt believe him.....the EXACT same conversation happened with jeffrey shortly after...ahhh alcohol....

What is the biggest secret you have ever told to a stranger?

I once bestowed upon a homeless man the meaning of life :)

What is the most absurd/funny/bizarre piece of email you have ever gotten from a fan?

One person told us that becoming a monster was the theme song for their bowling team.

Are there any new songs that you will never play live?  Why?

We're going to eventually play all of the songs we have live.  We are a live band....we dont go into the studio to record a song unless we plan on performing it. Music is live....so for us, there is no point in writing a song if we don't perform it live...

What song do each of you have as your ring tone?  Have you or your parents downloaded the SAC ringer?

Right now i have 'when you were young' by the killers as my ring tone...i think everyone else is workin with default nokia/cingular ring tones at this time....a couple of us have downloaded some sac ringtones to see what it sounds like....but i think its faux pas to rock your own bands ring tone...but still you gotta check out what it sounds like. The friends and family are definitely supporting the sac ringtones.

Is there a person you can think of being the "biggest" SAC fan? 

There is a girl who has seen us play in 5 states. And not 5 neighboring states....im talkin midwest, south, west coast....all over. But from the standpoint of longevity, we have a hometown fan who has been to every single show in our area since our inception. she also claims to have over 1000 sac pictures.

Is there any song you hate playing live but have to because fans love it?

We dont play a song live if we're over it. Its impossible for us to fake it. If we're not feelin a song live anymore then we retire it...And it only happens as songs get older and older to us...the stuff on the new album will all be played live.

What are some artists fans would be surprised to find on your Ipod/CD player?

Im not sure what would surprise people...we listen to everything...literally everything....from classical to jazz to rock n roll, 90's alt rock...80's pop..new up and coming stuff...we listen to everything so there's not really any guilty pleasures involved.

What do you think will be the best release of 2007?  

I havent really looked into what's coming out this year...im sure there will be a ton of good releases and we hope people will include 'telling secrets to strangers' on that list.. The best thing to happen in 2007 so far is definitely the news that The Police has reunited their original lineup, and will be performing live again.

Tell us something we don't know yet about the newest members of your band?

Well with the additions of blake abbey and justin barnes, self against city now has 5 songwriters, and 4 vocalists. With a unique, character driven lineup in place, the horizons of our future seem to have more shades of amazing possibilities than ever.
